The holiday season

I am very slack with this blog.. but have been busy moving house and getting organised.. just in time for christmas!

I just love our new tree.. only had to add a small amount of decorations for a tree this size.. 8ft from Myer, decorations from Target, Kmart and Myer and some from overseas and gifts.. It really was worth the effort..

Love it, the boys love it.. and the count down is on...

Hopefully the new year will bring more time for my little business and blog. In the meantime, enjoy my tree.

Cobwebs and weddings

Two words you wouldn't normally put together.. but hey here I am, after a few months missing.. I am dusting off the cobwebs and getting back into the swing of things. I have been working on wedding album layouts and working on one main one for a friend of mine. It is definitely something I would like to get more into, as it's fun and I am learning new skills with each template.

Here are a few sample pages to show you and whilst this blog is quite slow and I am sure no-one is listening, I will ramp it up at some stage.. We will be moving house soon so I might share some fun projects I plan on tackling (you know the ones where you organise, cull and organise some more..) we all love a bit of that..

If anyone out there is reading this and would like to know more about having a wedding album designed for them, please contact me. Very reasonable costs as I design and can upload to a printing company of your choice.

The Train Party!

I am a little bit sporadic with my posts, I am still getting used to having a blog and thinking of what I want to write on here. I know I mainly do Graphic Design but I also love parties and being creative. Whilst my parties are not as "pretty" as some of those out there, we try and re-use and re-cycle where we can.

I love a theme, it makes organising a party so much easier.. and of course for this year, it had to be a train party.. I asked month's ago what sort of cake Lachlan wanted and he said straight out.. mummy I want a train cake..

So here is what we created. Enjoy the visual!

The Train, made from boxes from Harvey Norman, it's great you can go to their recycle bin and take as many boxes as you need.

The New Look

When I make my mind up to change something, I can't do anything else until I have completed it! So here is my new look (oh and a new profile pic) taken by my gorgeous friend Veronica at Blueclick Photography.





I think I am really liking this new direction. Business cards have changed to reflect the new look. Here's hoping I don't decide to change again any time soon, it does cost money!

Branding...

not as painful as cattle branding but painful nonetheless. I have decided (after setting up this blog and facebook page) that I am not entirely happy with the "look". I still love the name so that is not changing but the colours and logo will change slightly.

I have been a bit quiet on here, still finding my feet and working through the boring stuff. And also fitting it in all in at night after the boys have gone to bed.

So bear with me, I will get there and have some great things for you in the future.

Getting my name out there...

Just between you, me and the internet.. I find it hard to "self promote" especially as there are so many talented people out there doing similar work to me. However it is something that I enjoy and now that I have been officially going for about a month, thought I had better let those contacts who are not on facebook etc know what I have been up to. So last night I sent out the all encompassing group email to let everyone know of my new venture. I have had some awesome replies and encouraging words so I thank you.

Whilst this is still a little part time job for me, as the boys have to come first, I look forward to branching out and doing more work and gaining new skills along the way.

The World of Colour

just got a whole lot easier.. with the arrival of this Dulux Colour Fan.. I'd love the Pantone one also, but that is a bit expensive at the moment. This will be a huge assistance in choosing colours and if I ever branch out to creating mood boards for people's interiors etc, then this will come in very handy!



I love it when "fun" things arrive in the mail, especially practical items that make life easier.
